Service Description
Every widely accepted concept of good governance requires public accountability of organizations that (a) use public money and/or (b) are intended to influence public business. The widespread perception of weak or absent accountability becomes a problem for voluntary organizations and their funders in many countries including Ghana. Many national governments with an authoritarian spectrum view voluntary organizations as not entirely useful despite their contribution to socio-economic development. Some of these state governments use the non-accountability nature of some voluntary organizations or “accountability to no one” except wealthy foreign organizations as an excuse to deprived them of funding. It is therefore important to organize a course aimed at assisting voluntary organizations to transition into the corporate governance management system to ensure accountability and impact for their beneficiaries and stakeholders.
