Service Description
Many voluntary organizations find it difficult to obtain sufficient and sustainable funding for their work. Gaining access to appropriate donors is a major component of this challenge. Most voluntary organizations have limited resource mobilization skills locally, so instead they wait for international donors to approach them for funding. These organizations suffer from a general lack of project, organizational and financial sustainability. They lack the technical and organizational capacity to implement and fulfill their missions, and few are willing or able to invest in training for capacity building. Weak capacity affects fundraising ability, governance, leadership, and technical activities. This Fund-Raising Course will focus exclusively on how to navigate through the most pressing issues and hurdles associated with raising funds from a voluntary and social enterprise organization’s context. It is a full immersion program, that will use simulations, prototyping, case studies, real-world issues, role-playing scenarios, small-group discussions, and recommendations based on findings, to offer exceptional learning experiences. The training program will combine an expansive range of practical, experiential, participatory, and adult learning approaches to create an insightful and successful learning environment. Assessments shall be conducted after each session, and participants will be equipped with the economics, governance, finance, political, and operational contexts of fund raising to develop effective fund-raising skills for the success of their organizations. This course is targeting NGOs, Foundations, Civil Society Organizations, and all other Voluntary Organizations who are interested in obtaining and enhancing practical fund-raising knowledge and skills for financial and economic sustainability of their organizations.
