#ANPOS24

The first authoritative gathering of nonprofit leaders in Ghana and across Africa

The Challenge

In 2021, the Government of Ghana introduced the mandatory NPO License to promote transparency and build donor confidence within the non-profit sector. While the goal of this initiative was to strengthen the sector, more than half of non-profit organizations, particularly smaller NGOs and community-based organizations, are struggling to meet the requirements needed to obtain this license.

This has posed significant operational challenges ranging from credibility to fundraising. Beyond licensing, nonprofit organizations in Ghana and across Africa face substantial barriers to effective collaboration, hindering their ability to maximize collective impact and sustainability.

Our Response

By convening over 150 influential nonprofit leaders and stakeholders (public, corporate, and political leaders), the Africa NPO Summit 2024 presents a dynamic platform for addressing the sector's topical challenges.

Through engaging discussions, expert-led workshops, and invaluable networking opportunities, we will update NGOs on NPO directives, ask regulators questions, and rapidly prototype ideas for collaboration and partnership.

The summit will also produce a comprehensive "Instructional Guide & Collaboration Playbook" that will empower nonprofits to navigate licensing requirements, optimize organizational management, and forge sustainable partnerships for long-term impact.
